Abstract

The utilization of Combine Harvester technology in rice farming is part of agricultural modernization aimed at improving harvesting efficiency and productivity. However, the application of this technology not only affects technical and economic aspects but also creates new business relationships among farmers, machine owners, operators, and laborers. This study aims to examine and analyze the implementation of business ethics in the utilization of Combine Harvester technology in rice farming. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from secondary sources, including scientific journals, books, and research reports related to agricultural mechanization and business ethics. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis by categorizing previous research findings into key business ethics aspects. The results indicate that the use of Combine Harvester provides economic benefits for farmers, particularly in reducing harvesting costs and minimizing yield losses. Nevertheless, ethical issues remain evident in practice, such as inconsistencies in measurement under the bawon rental system, lack of clarity in rental agreements, wage disparities among workers, and social impacts on traditional farm laborers. Therefore, the application of business ethics based on honesty, fairness, transparency, and social responsibility is essential to ensure that the use of modern harvesting technology supports equitable and sustainable rice agribusiness development.
